It is crazy to think there is somewhere so beautiful and remote, this close to Sydney. If anyone that I know is visiting Australia, and Sydney for the first time I make sure to tell them to visit the Blue Mountains. And more specifically, Wolgan Valley. Emirates One & Only Wolgan Valley have created what I consider to be not only be Australia’s best luxurious resort, but also the most quintessentially Australian. The resort is conservation based, set on over 7,000 acres of natural reserve that is teeming with wildlife. There are hundreds of kangaroos, wallabies and wombats everywhere. We were lucky enough to be invited to stay for a few nights, introducing Ru to this magical place that feels truly Australian. Each morning we would make sure to wake early to see the last of the fog roll through the valley, clearing slightly to let the suns rays saturate the surrounding rock face in bright pinks. This also happens to be the best time to see Kangaroo’s and their Joeys eating breakfast, literally on your front porch. We spent most of our time simply walking and enjoying the views and wildlife, but were also treated to an incredible picnic nestled high among the mountains overlooking the valley, followed by hot chocolates by the campfire while star gazing at night. Thank you One & Only Wolgan Valley for not only the freshest air we have had in a long time, but for treating us to something so, so special for us to remember forever.
