I have never posted about my home over the years because in all honesty, I was happily living out of a suitcase. I’m excited to be partnering with Australian furniture brand GlobeWest who have helped us set up, settle in and ground ourselves here at home. Each piece I chose has struck a chord with me, reminding me of a place, a special moment or those missed mementos (that carved wardrobe or Turkish lamp that you wish you could fit in to your luggage). I first came across GlobeWest in the most common way that I can think of these days; Instagram. My sister tagged me in one of their posts and it quickly became a game of Instagram tag between ourselves with each new piece of furniture we were lusting over. For those who don’t know GlobeWest create beautiful furniture and homewares. Founded in Melbourne in 2004 they are a designer favourite given their diverse and distinctive offering and high quality craftmanship.   I nearly fell off my chair when they emailed me out of the blue a few days later, saying they were mutual fans and wanted to gauge a collaboration. I explained our situation, that we were about to move in to our own place together for the first time, and that we were newly expecting. That was all quite a while ago now… during this whole time we have been back and forth living in hospitals, all the while incredibly thankful to have had these pieces shape our house to feel more like a home each time we walk back in the door. Our home is filled with earthy tones, wood grain furniture and greenery. The main living areas are surrounded by large windows drenching us in natural afternoon light, which we are usually lapping up from the couch while a James Taylor record plays on the Willow Buffet. It is hard to pick favourites but I chose the Bogart Button Sofa first and built around that as the centre of our living space. The woven rattan has a vintage feel, and became an accidental theme tying together our bedside tables, occasional chair, nursery storage and buffet. For those who would like to buy, GlobeWest is available via boutique retail stockists and authorised design professionals. To find out more, visit GlobeWest.com.au/howtobuy or for more inspiration follow their Instagram and Pinterest. I’ll be taking over their Instagram stories tomorrow to share some more photos! This is the first place Ru has ever lived and where her first memories will be made. Thank you GlobeWest for being a part of it. “Home is where your story begins.”     All photos by the wonderfully talented Rose Jane.
