Paris Fashion Week Diary Day 5 – Loewe & Balmain show

March 06, 2018

Song of Style

Day 5 of PFW started out with the Loewe show in the morning. It was the only day it rained in Paris so I decided I wanted to be comfortable and went with a super casual outfit since I would be running from show to show.  The Loewe show was first up. Jonathan Anderson unveiled plenty of coats and furry accents to his collection (I love me some fuzzy outerwear). Loewe also had lots of midi dresses which as you all know, I love to wear. They’re functional and cool with no fuss when putting them on! I just liked how the collection I could see myself getting a lot of wear from the pieces.I wore a Loewe lilac eyelet dress as a duster with a Chloé metallic turtleneck sweater (similar here). I also wore this sweater at Day 4 of PFW. I only brought my GRLFRND distressed flared denim (similar here, here and also here) so I wore them (Thankfully, I brought my favorite pair!). I wore Proenza Schouler kitten heel slingbacks (similar here and here) that are comfortable and closed toe. My Staud Shirley bag (similar here) came in handy as it matched my umbrella and was also water proof. Ahn wanted to put extensions in my hair but since it was raining, I needed it to be tied in certain parts to stay functional. With Olivier Rousteing always creating a show-stopping runway, I was excited to see what was to come next. This season was a change up from the typical fabrics used by Rousteing as he included holographic PVC and neon pops of color in the latest Ready-to-wear collection. I felt like I was transported to the future but there was still some 80s vibes happening with metallic fabrics and sequins galore. Right after the Loewe show, I had half an hour to get ready for Balmain. I sent a text to Ahn right after Tom Ford’s last 80s inspired show in New York with a model wearing giant earrings, a headband, and long hair and Ahn didn’t forget and thought it was the perfect moment to recreate this look. So he teased my hair, put on a leather headband, and I wore Fallon jagged edge cheekbone earrings (similar here). My Balmain outfit was all about houndstooth. I wore a Balmain houndstooth bomber jacket and coordinating mini skirt. Since it was chilly out, I wore sheer tights underneath for that extra layer with my Balmain thigh-high leather boots. For the party, I wore this RIXO London polka dot dress (similar here and similar short version here). I discovered this brand on Instagram (I feel like I keep discovering more and more brands via Instagram). They make really cool vintage print dresses. Since I was keeping the same hair, I kept the rest of the outfit simple with just my Fallon jagged edge cheekbone earrings (similar here) and Manolo Blahnik Lurum mules (similar here).
